How it works

Vertebral body augmentation works by injecting bone cement into the fractured vertebral body to expand the vertebrae, stabilize the fracture, and relieve pain.
The procedure itself has a very low complication rate and typically takes one hour per fracture treated. Most patients return home one to two hours after the procedure. The procedure is covered by most insurance plans including Medicare and involves very little downtime.
